Reviews by T de V - French Creek reviewed by Theresa de Valencia.

"Peter Rennebohm, the author, is still a very nice man and I still haven’t met him. That I would continue to trust him unchaperoned with my nieces is possibly surprising because he is the same author who created the bad guys in FRENCH CREEK and they are thoroughly evil."

"Have you ever stepped from reality into the Twilight Zone? It can happen on an ordinary day as you go about your normal activities. Peter Rennebohm spins a tale of terror that speeds on and on and on. You'll be on the edge of your seat, mesmerized through the very last page." - Alice Peppler, Alice 'n Ink

. . .
"I found French Creek a great read-- even arresting. Very professionally done. A barn-burner and a page turner. The only caution I'd extend a reader is to make sure there's a chunk of time ahead before picking it up. It is a difficult book to put down. The action is riveting and totally absorbing -- it all rings true." - Tony Bouza, Deputy Police Chief New York City; Minneapolis Police Chief; director of Center to Prevent Handgun Violence Washington, DC; published author

. . .
"Peter... I just finished French Creek and was so impressed with your writing style... it is so rich with visual detail. You have nailed the horror of evil and its impact on innocent people yet how faith and God protects them." - Debra Kiefat, Metro Hospitality Consultants, Inc.

. . .
"Mr. Rennebohm: I purchased an autographed copy of your book "French Creek" last weekend while at Burnsville Center. You asked me at that time to drop you a line regarding what I thought of it. To tell you the truth...it was wonderful! Quite a page turner. Your characters were well developed and I actually cared about them. My favorite genre of books are thrillers such as this. I'll pass it along to my friends so that they may enjoy it as well. Are you planning any others along these lines? If so, let me know (or I'll watch for it). Please consider me a fan." - Larry Patterson

. . .
"Mr. Rennebohm: I purchased your book, FRENCH CREEK, at the Bookcase in Wayzata, MN last week, and had to tell you how much I enjoyed it. It was really fast-paced and I loved the characters--very earthy. When can I expect to see your second novel?" - Chad Hawley

. . .
"After reading two of your short stories--Dreamstealer and More Than Friends, I expected a pretty good story. What I found instead was a great book-- really great! I can't wait for your next novel." - Bill Vann, Bloomington, MN

. . .
"...you signed [French Creek] for me at the Burnsville Mall... I thoroughly enjoyed your book. The characters were great, they seemed so real to life. I had a tough time putting the book down... Please continue to share your wonderful stories." - Peter Gordon

. . .
"Just finished 'French Creek'... what a great story! Your imagination is really something and the way you wove the story, with all the twists and turns... fantastic... You've been blessed with a remarkable talent." - Steve M.

. . .
"The cover blurbs were right -- it's a page turner. Visually snappy with a good mix of real-life characters we identify with (the good guys), and larger than life characters we loathe (the bad guys). Reads like a pre-movie script. The story gains momentum and flow as it starts telling itself. By the end, I was dying to know how it would all come out. Darla was a real inspiration, an unexpected character who added wonderful spice to the story. Hope you're working on another one." - Harry Piper, Eagle Point, OR

John L Rule, Minneapolis salesman, ventures away from his usual sales route, looking for a junkyard where he hopes to find a certain part-- the last piece to complete the rebuild of an old truck. At least that was his goal. Very quickly that changes, becoming, not a pleasant pastime fulfilled, but a struggle for his very life. John Rule has stumbled into something altogether sinister and dangerous.

What follows is a nerve-wracking, roller-coaster ride of suspense and conflict between an ordinary man and some vicious, seasoned antagonists. John must summon courage and determination he had never had tested before -- just to stay alive.

Excerpt:

...He didn't know which way to go, it would soon be dark, and it was getting colder. The dogs continued barking somewhere off to the west. He stopped to get his bearings. The office was still behind him, now a long distance away. John stood and pivoted on top of a small hill. Hundreds and hundreds of ancient, broken down, rusted cars and trucks of every possible vintage presented a maze that seemed impossible to penetrate. What the hell am I doing here? I'll never find the right truck.

Something he saw tugged at him. He stopped and looked around. What is it? What's out there?....
